Review the physical identity as a whole
Set an adult age and the available visual choices. Compare hair, eyes and other defining features with the written description before finishing; later scene prompts should still refer to this companion.
Describe how this person handles an event
Give the companion something to care about and a recognisable way of responding. A habit or an unresolved question can guide the dialogue more clearly than a long list of flattering adjectives.
Begin an encounter the other speaker can answer
Place the greeting at a particular moment. Show what has happened and let the reader decide their own response. Background belongs in the character's identity; the opening should put that identity into action.
