Build a Nectar character with their own point of view

Appearance, personality and the first encounter should describe the same fictional person. Work through those choices together before deciding where to share the profile.

Settle the features that stay fixed

Select the available style, adult age and physical traits. Compare the portrait with the written description so that neither introduces a different person.

Hair, eyes, ethnicity and body type cannot be changed after creation. Editing age, Personality, Greeting or additional traits depends on the options available to your plan.

Describe behaviour that can appear in a reply

Instead of collecting adjectives, explain what the companion notices, how they respond under pressure and what they want from this encounter. A small habit can do more for the voice than an abstract description.

Use the fields for their intended readers

  • Personality holds the character's enduring history and behaviour.
  • Greeting begins the event that another person will answer.
  • Author Comments speak to the profile's reader, outside the fictional exchange.
  • Visible to public? controls the sharing choice; submitted public companions are reviewed before appearing in discovery.

Try a scene that tests one personality detail

Give a cautious character a reason to weigh a risk, or an observant one a discrepancy to notice. Review how the response handles it. Revise the relevant behaviour instead of making the entire biography longer after every test.

Questions and answers

Create a companion: your questions

Can I make a companion on Nectar's free plan?

Character creation is part of the free offering, within the account's allowance. Pro and higher plans support unlimited companion creation; other usage conditions should be checked before another character is started.

Which appearance choices should I check before finishing?

Review hair, eyes, ethnicity and body type carefully because they are fixed at creation. Later access to written edits does not make those physical choices editable.

Where should a character's speaking habits be described?

Put the lasting voice and behaviour in Personality, with examples if they help. Use Greeting to demonstrate that voice in the first event rather than repeating the same instructions.

Does creating a character publish the profile automatically?

Review Visible to public? rather than assuming the outcome. A public submission requires review, and fields intended for a public card should not contain private information.
